Users of this Wiki are welcome to customize their user page (pages in the User: namespace), with anything they like. It is recommended that the space is used to express yourself and your interest in the community. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact an Administrator.
Do not look for loopholes in these rules. Even if something is not directly stated, if we tell you it's not allowed, it's not.
Images and Videos[]
User pages are allowed to have custom images and videos uploaded to them, but please note that the Image Policy rules are still enforced. Do not upload or add any pornographic images or videos or anything containing inappropriate language to your user page or anywhere else on the Wiki. Doing so will result in an immediate block.
Users are allowed to upload no more than 10 files solely for use on their profiles, and all of the files must be tagged with the {{User Image}}. User images which are also present in articles as well as those found in userbox templates do not count toward this limit.
Do not claim artwork as your own. If there is an image of artwork on your profile and it's not yours, you must credit the artist. Saying only "credits to the artist" or "image found on Reddit" does not count. We need a name or a username of the person it belongs to.
User Page Content[]
The purpose of a user page is to tell the community about yourself. If you need ideas, you can write about your favorite things, what you do on this wiki, any cats you have, etc.
Do not use your user page to make personal attacks on people. This includes writing about people on this Wiki that you dislike or writing in a disparaging manner about another in relation to their nationality, race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc.
Your user page is not a free place to advertise your related website, YouTube channel, blog, social media account, etc.
No use of swear words/profanity
Do not mention religion or politics. These can be sensitive topics for some people.
When customizing your user page, please be mindful to not block any of the wiki's features, such as navigation menus. Any user pages that have custom designs that block Wiki functionality are subject to be modified or deleted.
If someone helped you code your profile or if you borrowed code from someone else's profile, you must credit them.
Editing[]
You may edit your user page as much as you would like to, but don't be excessive. Do not edit your user page for the purpose of inflating your edit count.
If you would like your user page to be protected, you may contact an administrator to lock it for you. Keep in mind that by doing so, you will be unable to edit it.
Do not edit a user profile page that is not your own. The Cats Wiki considers a user's profile page property of the person whose account it is attached to, and shall not be edited by other users, unless that page's owner gives express permission to do so. Only staff may edit another user's page without their permission, but may only do so if deemed absolutely necessary (IE: to revert vandalism, or if it contains content that violates wiki policy, such as mature content, hate speech, etc.).
You will be banned if you vandalize a user's profile page. Punishment for vandalism is the same regardless of what page it is.
