The Ocelot is a small wild cat native to the Americas. They have short fur with spots that sometimes run in lines along the body. Once hunted for its fur and still threatened by forest clearing, their numbers have been greatly reduced. The ocelot is found in forests and scrubland from the south western USA to the tip of South America.

Certain ocelot subspecies are officially endangered, although the species as a whole is not.
